Who Should Be in Superbowl instead of the Cardinals?

Blog Family,

The facts are clear. The Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers are in the Superbowl.  I know, that is crazy right. It even feels funny to type Cardinals and Superbowl in the same sentence, let alone say it. The Steelers are not a surprise to me because they have displayed all year that defense is for real and the BRING THE HAT!

I will give it up to the Cardinals, they are playing great football. They will only get better with the return of Andquan Bolden, the other monster receiver on the team. Larry Fitzgerald is really elevating his game. They say while the world is watching the NFL playoffs, starts are born. This is true and we are witnessing Larry’s ascension into the football elite. Not sure what he is going to do against that Pittsburg defense, but no one gave them a chance to get here and they did it. So you cannot rule them out of anything.

I cannot say enough about Kurt Warner. He is one of those guys that just makes everyone better. The difference is accuracy. The NFL is a game of inches believe it or not. And a ball place 2 to 3 inches in a particular direction can win or lose the game for a team. QB passing accuracy is critical. I believe McNabb lost that game because of bad ball placement. There were times when people could have caught and ran for daylight, but a low thrown ball causes the receiver to slide and catch instead of catching it in stride to keep run. This is a game of inches.

So, who is sick that they are not in the Superbowl? The PACKERS!!!

THE GREEN BAY PACKERS!!! That is right. Think about it football fans. That same team last year with Brett Farve was a 13-3 football team on the doorstep of the superbowl. They release Farve, don’t make the playoffs in favor of Aaron Rodgers and the future.

Don’t get it twisted, Brett Farve is still the truth. With the weapons, trust, and chemistry he has with that team, the problems the NFL had, Giants losing Plaxico Burris, Farve would have the Packers in the Superbowl with a legitimate shot at winning another superbowl. There is no doubt in my mind that would be the case. Farve has it and is just a winner.

You may be thinking that defense isn’t good enough. But consider that a good offense, makes a defense better. This is done because they are rarely put in tough positions with useless turnovers deep in their own territory. By keeping the ball longer with no three and outs, scoring touchdowns and kicking off to win the game of field position. A good offense can really make a defense by allowing them to rest on the sidelines and be fresher on the field. Farve brings all of this to a team.

Don’t get me wrong, Rogers seems like he is going to be a good QB in the future. The thing about the NFL is if you have a chance to win now, YOU BETTER WIN NOW! Tomorrow is never promised.

Tomorrow is never promised.

If you have a chance to win now, you have to do it. The Cardinals would not be in this position if they would have stuck it out with their young QB. Warner has the savvy, leadership, skill, and sagger to get it done.

So I am laughing at the Green Bay Packers! I was totally against them doing that. It was some crap. Brett Farve is the legend in Wisconsin and made that Franchises what it is, you don’t do that to someone off his calibert. Especially when he had a strong year in the tank.

That is a violation and the penalty is my laughter.

(((( Imagine me pointing my finger at them and laughing hysterically )))))))))

Psh, you wish Freddie! The Giants (myself included) are the ones that should be crying!

Think of it… we were ROLLING. Everything was set up for a repeat, and when we had all of our players healthy nobody was saying that we WEREN’T the best team in the league, it was fact. We dominated the Steelers and the Cardinals alike, and had it in the bag until Plax shot himself in the foot.

If Donald Driver shot himself in the leg, the Packers wouldn’t have much of a prayer either ;) Am I right?

    @ Jim,

I will give it to you that if the Giants stay healthy, they are in the Superbowl. I cannot stand the Giants cause it doesn’t seem like that team should be so good, but they are. Plaxico is an idiot! I just had to say that.

I see that you are a real Giants fan. I said that because I am not a Packers fan, just laughing at their organization cause they threw the legend out on his head. You just don’t do that.

Packers booting Farve was like Boston rejecting Larry Bird, it just wouldn’t ever happen! That was the real point of my rant I guess, not to bang on the Giants, but the Packers organization. They are crazy!

Go Steelers, they might get them another one!

If any team stays healthy you are likely going to be in the Super Bowl. Every team has injuries and problems and if you cannot deal with them then you do not deserve to be in the Super Bowl.

@ Franklin – Yeah, you are right about the injuries and it being part of football. That is what makes it tough to repeat or get there for that matter. My comment was just saying that if Farve would have stayed, they would have been in the Superbowl.

@ Desmond – Yes, that sucks! I am not a Colt fan, but I feel for you. Coach retires, team loses, and you are in Cali, wow! At least you won a superbowl recently…you could be a Lions fan like me.

And you might say, why not adopt your current home team. NO! I live in Chicago area now and they suck as well…..sorry Bears fans.

Lifelong Cowboys fan, even if you hate me for it. And who isn’t crying over the fact that with all that ridiculous talent, the ego gets in the way and there you have it. Season over.

You just don't disrespect a legend like that. He should be able to play until he was 50 after all he has done for that organization.

      Crazy!
