That's true. If people appreciate you they're more likely to buy something from you later on. Basing your whole business model around tricking people into buying useless crap is kinda short-sighted.

This is true because value is in the eye of the beholder. If you creating something wonderful that isn't appreciated at the moment, doesn't mean it is garbage. Take Twitter as an example, when it first dropped most people, including myself, didn't see any value in it. That didn't mean that there wasn't any value. The owners stuck with it and now it is one of the fastest growingphenomenonson the Internet and we cannot seem to live with out. (Got to run. Must send out my next Tweet!)

That's true - if you do things for the sake of doing them - for passion, for need of creating something valuable the money will come. Or even if it won't at least you'll have the feeling of achieving something great - you created a glorious thing and even if people didn't appreciate it you still know it's value.

@ Yan - Unfortunately, Yan, if anyone begins to focus on the money, you will lose sight of what is really important. In this case, helping people and delivering value to them through my blog. I got off track, but I am back. I don't write my own check, my customers do. And I appreciate all that they give me, for I give them all that I have.

@ Matty - Thanks for reminding me why I started this blog in the first place. Sometimes we all need a kick in the butt and people benefiting from what you are doing is just the kick we need. I received that from you and it is appreciated.

You are right about how people on the Internet seem to go out of their way to help others than people in real life, but it is a great place to start practicing....and I think it is going to carry over into real life. Just continue to keep paying it forward. I know I am.

@ Wynter - You raise a very interesting truth that what we write will be here for generations to come. Kind of makes you think about the material or footprints that we are leaving. I know that as I move forward that thought will be on my mind and I will continue to attempt to produce the best that I have to offer in hopes that my grandchildren will read one day and appreciate my efforts. Thanks for the thought.

As for marketing, you just have to keep fighting, pushing, building, and growing each and everyday. The truth being told, you never know which effort it is going to be that is going to take you to that next level. Therefore, we must continue to push them all.

Great post, we're creating value with every post and every comment we leave. Everything on the Internet will stay on the Internet for generations, so we might as well instill value in all that we create.

Marketing is tough sometimes to stay motivated with, because it takes consistent daily action to keep it moving. So when we become un-motivated we waste days or weeks in inaction.

Thanks for the special shout! I think it's so great when strangers help each other out -- it's nice that there is an opportunity for people to share and inspire others. Would be nicer even still if that happened to people out on the street -- but maybe the Internet provides us a great tool to practice.

Glad to see a new post and here's to many more!

The master motivator is losing his focus, eh? Well, we all do... Yaro once said

If you have a passion for a topic that you can translate into benefit for other people, then you should be blogging.

And yes, it all boils down to what value we bring to the table and how we achieve that consistently.

If they say, we write our own paycheck, NO, the customers do. It has been and it will always be.

To our success
Yan
