Greetings Blog Family,

I am coming back at you on another Sunday. The 25th straight Sunday in a row that I am reporting my accountability to you. It has been bumpy road being honest with my performance, but I believe it is for the best. It is my hope that my brutal honesty with my progress is encouraging you to find someone to reach out to and hold you accountable for the success and dreams that you desire. I believe everyone deserves so much.

Last Week’s Goal: Complete my taxes

Last week, my goal to complete was my taxes. Did I finish them? No. I didn’t finish them. Let’s just say I there are a bunch of reasons I have why they where not completed, but none rise above the definition of an excuse. So, I will save my excuses for never.

There is one thing that I love about the fraternity I joined in college and it is their disdain for excuses. The truth is no one wants to hear an excuse and any reason for not completing a task is an excuse. This is still my outlook today. Don’t make excuses, get it done.

I will finish my taxes this week, so they are not going to go back on my accountability list. I am moving on to something bigger, better, and even more important.

This Week’s Goal: Quality time with my boys!

I have two big headed, little boys by the name of Jayel and Freddie 3. These are my little men and I love them dearly. However, over the last few months I think the change in my business, economy, and other concerns has led me to not being in their life as much as I would like.

This week, I plan on reconnecting with them as I have a great opportunity to do so. My wife, Krystal, is out of town for a few days and has been so since Friday. This gives me a great chance to do all the little things that they need to get them through the week, but also gives me an chance to have fun with them and reconnect as well.

I want you to hold me to having fun with them everyday as well as reading with them at night and doing something special this week since it is just the boys. I have somethings in mind, but it is going to a good week.

What have wee been up to?

FT & Boys at SIU vs. UIC B-Ball Game

Well, on Saturday, we went to the Southern Illinois University vs. University of Illinois Chicago basketball game in downtown Chicago. It was great because it was their first time at a basketball game. They won some tickets from their school to go with the school, so it was a really great event. We got t-shirts and was treated to a great game. SIU lost the game 67 to 74, which was a bummer for me because I am graduate of SIU. The boys were pretty happy. We had hot dogs, popcorn, pretzels, soda, and cotton candy to round out the night of junk food and loud noises. It was a great evening.

Other than that, we have been seriously playing some video games. They get a kick out of the old man trying to keep up with them. They don’t realize that I have over 20 years of serious video gaming experience over them, but they have fun trying to beat me. I will admit that in most games, my 9 year can beat me. But if he throws in the old school classic games he doesn’t have a chance.

FT & boys reading on floor in bedroom

Tonight, we finished off the long day of play with reading. We read Freddie 3′s book, “Junie B First Grader”. Although he is only in Kindergarten, he loves Junie B and her big first grade adventures. Here is a picture of use reading on the floor in their bedroom. I love these boys. They are so special and get a kick out literally everything. It is very funny.

Think we will go bowling on Monday. We haven’t done that in a while. They love bowling, plus it will give me a good excuse to hit the lanes. I will be sure to take pictures as well. I need to start a flickr account so I can just integrate my pics into this website. One day, I will get that done.

Who do you need to reconnect with this week? Get to it, relationships don’t work themselves out!

Take this week to reconnect and build with those special people in your life. We work so hard from week to week just to make it. Don’t ruin the special relationships you have trying to provide for them. In these few moments we have on earth be sure to fill them with love and your love ones.

First in the Mind, then in Reality!

Blog Family,

I am writing late on a Sunday night because it has been a long day, yet I must get my accountability in for the week. I feel accountability is what every entrepreneur needs.

Many entrepreneurs go into business for themselves to avoid having to be accountable to someone else. You know that is the polite way to say having a boss all over your back and up in your business. If you have a job or work for someone else, then you are going to experience some of this.

The fact is having someone you are accountable to makes you more productive. It is true. Let’s just face it. To bring out your very best, you must set high goals and be accountable to them.

So how does the entrepreneur get that accountability they need?

They have to go get it. You can get a mentor. This is a great idea. That mentor would be better than a boss because there are there to help you learn and grow. Mentors have been a key asset of successful people for centuries. Don’t neglect the power.

You could network with a group of like minded people that will hold you accountable. You have to network and meet people that you respect enough to work with them and trust them enough to share your goals and dreams with them. Everyone in this group could share the ir weekly or monthly goals and hold each other accountable for their goals. Moral support and not letting the group down can be powerful motivators for you.

Or you can be creative.

The route I chose was to be accountable for a large weekly goal in my business and life. I know this is different, but why not? It is interesting and I know there are people in my Blog Family that will do a great job at holding me accountable. And that is what you need. We all have the potential for greatness inside of us. Sometimes we just need it dragged out of us. You are going to help me get over that feeling.

Last Weeks Goal

Last week, I wanted to write 50 articles for my niche sites during the week. This was a follow up goal from the week before where I only completed 40 articles. 4 0 articles was outstanding, but I wanted the entire fire. So, I set the goal one more time. This time I was determined to hit it.

Last week, I hit my goal. I wrote 50 articles for my various niche sites. I am so excited. I know that each one of those articles are going to move their way into SERPS that can generate traffic. It just felt good to hit the goal of 50 articles.

This Weeks Goal

This week, I have to complete the taxes. It has to get done.
