Goal Setting Sunday: Week 8

Greetings Blog Family,

What a week or two! I had quite a time achieving the goals from Week7. So much so that I took two weeks….and still didn’t get it all done, but still made some great progress.

First off, you should know that blog commenting and article writing has become a normal part of my daily blogging life, so you may notice those goals not appearing on the goals list for a while. I am moving on to bigger and better techniques that I want to focus on.

Also know that I did not post my site flip for sale, however, I did make some progress. I did order and receive 10 articles to populate the site and was pleased with articles I received. It cost me $30 for 10 articles of 500 words or more.

Now what kept me busy changing my sites to my HostGator account proved to be a great challenge, but it happened. Therefore, I finally have pretty permalinks. Check it out above. Yes, I am excited. You don’t now what I went through to make that happen, but it is done.

This Weeks Goals

1) Launch IM Experiment #1 – I will talk more about this when the actual experiment is launched, but give you a little. I am creating an ebook to subscribers of this blog. Been wanting one for some time now, just haven’t gotten around to creating one.

Well all that is over now. I am taking on an experiment to create my ebook and you are the benefactors. The experiment will be explained more in my post later this week. Look for it around Wednesday or so. It going to be a real treat. Can’t wait to share it with you.

2) Add a feature box to Home Page – I want to more prominently feature some of my better material. Also, I am aiming to get more clicks per article by leaving them in the line of site for longer periods of time. In this box, I want to feature: Suggested Articles, Video Post, the Best of Ft.com.

3) Network on Blog Catalog on the site – Since getting addicted to Twitter (follow me here), I have been wondering about some of these other sites. Blog Catalog is the next one on my list. I am just curious and want to learn more. Sure I have an account already, but I am not really familiar with the site . Got to get all up in the middle and see what it is about.

4) Start a MyBlogLog Account – Ok, I have an account, but have not visited it in many, many months and it is attached to an account I don’t really associate with. I want to use continue to use and brand ThinkTaylor. Therefore, I need to create an account with this name. Thus, I will.

5) Jump Start IM Experiment #2: Upload Site Script – I am not going to say much about the details of this one yet, but want to get it started. There is some preparation work involved with this one. I want to get the site uploaded and start setting things up, so when it is time to launch the experiment can run with it. Besides, now is the time to focus on IM Experiment #1.

Bonus #6: Set up new Theme – As you can see, I have switched my theme. This was done late last night, so there is still a bunch of work to do, but it is more consistant with the look and feel I want to create around here at FreddieTaylor.com

Originally, I got the them to use in some sites I am going to flip, but it is just perfect for what I want to get done. I am looking to feature more content and get additional clicks and views to some of my previous work. Eventually, I would like to see my best content rotating moreso on the front page of the blog, thus this theme will help with that.

Time to get to work

Let’s get to work, Blog Family! We have work to do. It is a new week and time for a new attitude. Grab your work boots, hard hat, and put that chip on your shoulder. It time to get it crackin!

Hey, this is my first visit, must say Im intreiged by your two IM experiments! I like the website theme as well, although your heading seems like its been shrunk to fit, which has made it look a little rough around the edges – just an observation :)

These are good goals Freddie! I want to point out that your new theme is MUCH better than the previous one and it is a good move you did. I love the “Rock my feed”! ;)

@ Dan – Thanks for visiting and glad to have piqued your interest in the IM Experiments. That section is going to be a lot of fun and we are all going to learn a lot.

Thanks for the heads up on the heading. I am still working on layout as I just launched this theme last night. Please don’t be shy and let me know if you notice imperfections

Hope to see more of you around these parts…be sure to Rock my Feed!

@ Ben – Thanks for checking in on me and please hold me accountable to these goals. Yeah, I am feeling the theme as well, but I have a lot of work to do to get it right. You will be seeing the changes at they occur. Please feel free to throw out some suggestions if it moves you!
