Goal Setting Sunday: Week 7

Greetings Blog Family,

Let me be honest and direct. I am finally back from my short trip/vacation/outing and I am tired. It is late. Thus, this one will be quick. I know I shouldn’t be like that on Goal Setting Sunday, but it is what it is….LOL!

Last Week

Last week was a mess around here at FreddieTaylor.com. I was unable to get at my goals like I really wanted to. I know what you are thinking, why Freddie?

I hate excuses, so please don’t take this like I am telling you my dog ate my homework because I am not. This is the truth. My appraisal business really picked up last week, which is a good thing. However, since the week was short for me I had to really stop, drop, and focus on making sure that my clients received their reports before I left town and this didn’t leave me with very much time to work on my blog here. Don’t feel bad for me, after all, I was making some money appraising.

Now this is made things very interesting because I realized that I really don’t want to appraise any longer and really need to light a fire under my butt to make Internet Marketing and blogging my full time profession! Here we go.

1) Comment 15 times a day – I was all over this for the four days I was in town. This is becoming easier and easier because I am regularly reading the blogosphere now and engaging other bloggers on their sites. Making friends, reading, and learning is a great time and I will be continuing this.

2) Write 1 article per day – I was able to get this one done as well. And I think that I will put this back on my goals for this week. Really need that consistency in my writing right now.

3) Implement New Positioning & Branding – This is going very well. There are some things left that I have to do, but it is happening. I got the new logo up and running. You will also notice that I created pictures that correspond with each of my post titles. This will be a new staple at FreddieTaylor.com that I will be tweaking here and there. There is one more heading that I have to create for my Lessons I am doing. Should happen this week.

4) Post Site Flip for Sale – This didn’t happen at all. I still have to get the site together and get it right. Last week was just bad for me.

5) Outsource Content Generation – I did not outsource my content, which was crazy, right? I do have a good location to get the contact, so that is great.

Overall, not a bad week, but we got to get it going….now!

This Week

Alright, we got big work to do this week. We are about to make that transition and fire my appraisal business, so it is time to get down to work!

1) 15 Comments per day – Come on! Do you really think I am going to take this off of my list? Not a chance!

2) Write 1 article per day – Got to get it in everyday! (Real fatigue is starting to settle in as I am writing this. Pretty sure this post is about to end soon.)

3) Outsource Content – Got to do this just for the experience and I need to get my content together for my site flip.

4) Post Website for Sale – It is going to happen this week. I need some money to put into my Internet slush fund. There are few resources that I want to look into.

5) Transfer Site (& Change permalinks) - Last week, I was getting verbally chopped up by some of the readers because I have those ugly permalinks at the top of my site. I went into this long story about it and didn’t get any love from the readers because they were not trying to hear what I was saying. LOL! This is great because wouldn’t let me off the hook and I am going to suck it up, transfer my site to my HostGator account, and CHANGE MY PERMALINKS!!!!!! LOL!

*********************************************

It’s over I have to get some rest. More than likely I am going to come back and edit this post on Monday….after some sleep!

Let’s get it this week, Blog Family!

    Freddie,

Good goals, but have you consider making any statistical goals such as 100 new visitors or 10 new subscribers?

    Good luck in completing them.

Adam, it is funny that you say that because one goal that left off of this list was to START keep track of my stats. This is going to be internal for a while, but I have to start keeping track to find out what is working and not working.

To answer you question, yes. It is coming. My blog is so new that there are so many things that I have to get in order before any of that is really relevant, so I am doing a lot of house keeping right now and looking to build some consistency first.

Thanks for the suggestion and comment.

@ Salwa – Thanks for the encouragement. I can use it! Get on your goals, you may have missed over the past 2 weeks, but it is nothing to get right back on the horse!

@ Hussein – 1 article per day is a pretty good pace. I have to make this one happen and so do you! Let me know how you are doing on this one. It is good to keep in touch with someone about your goals.

Wait a minute, if my mind serves me well, I didn’t chop you, did I? Good to see that you are sorting out the permalink. It’s not all about being ugly but it’s just damned not beautiful…:-)

Hope you are doing better this week and here’s my toast to your success.

@ Yan – You are right, you didn’t chop me, but I did get cut by the little blade you had….LOL! Seriously, I needed that push to get it done and I will, but it is Tuesday and I haven’t started the transfer yet. Got some more appraisal work that has to be done first. You know, that pays the bills right now, so it has priority.

Thanks for the toast, let’s enjoy the success!

@Think Taylor – I am now actually trying to make future post and schedule them. You can see now in my blog that I have post everyday.

BTW, why not try to make your permalinks seo-friendly while it is still not too late. :D

@ Hussein – Yeah, I feel you on getting ahead of your schedule. That is what I am up to, but think I may have too many sites to post to. I have to get some more writers on the team.

Good luck with your efforts. I will be watching!

@Freddie – BTW, How many sites do you have?

  11. Think Taylor October 16, 2008 at 12:23 pm #

@ Hussein – I have 5 sites and a few in development that will be sold. The 5 sites are varied. I will cover them soon as I want to get some feed back.

Recently, I realized that I need to focus on one of my Niche sites as it has to most potential to make me money now because it is doing that without the benefit of what I have learned over the last two months.

Maybe Sunday, I will talk about it more.
