Goal Setting Sunday: Week 6
Greetings Blog Family,
It’s another week here at FreddieTaylor.com and you already know that I am fired up. We have another opportunity to move closer to our desires and do it on our own terms. That’s what I am talking about. Let’s get into it!
Last Week
Last week was a big week for us around here. I implemented a lot of the lessons I have learned from around the Internet and it is beginning to show some dividends. That is great!
1) Comment 10 – 15 per day
- This goal was designed for Monday through Friday, so 5 days of commenting at a steady pace. I succeeded and some!
If you have been around the blogosphere lately, you may have noticed that my comments where leaving quite a trail. Regular commenting was something totally new for me, but when I saw a few people doing it all the time and then talking about their increased traffic and more, I had to give it a shot.
The result, it works! I have seen my traffic dramatically increase over the past 7 days and the only thing that I have done differently was comment. That is it. I found a group of bloggers I can learn from and have made it a point to comment on their sites. I discovered Google Reader last Sunday and this has made the process much easier. Check out Danny at Linkers Blog here http://linkersblog.com/your-rss-reader/, he gives you a solid overview of Google reader and the benefits. I may do a post on Google Reader in the future because it was a big discovery for me this week.
2) 5 Articles Socially Marked per day
- Again, this was a Monday through Friday goal. I succeeded in doing this one as well. Understand, I run a real estate investment blog as well and we have about 40 articles that had not been uploaded to the social book marking sites, so I have to do this one by one, but I did it! Should be done with those back logged articles this week.
3) Complete entire week at FreddieTaylor.com
- I was able to achieve this as well. This is bigger than just getting through the week. But it was about building the correct mentality to be a successful blogger and taking my business seriously. I did that and have grown in my understanding of this business. It is on like popcorn!
4) Continue Developing Internet Business Plan
- This is really coming a long. In fact, I have some real direction, positioning, and branding that will be implemented more this week as well. You can get a little bit of this by looking at my new logo that I designed. It illustrates where I am going with this blog and future. It’s happening and I am excited!
5) Launch my New Adsense Site
- Well, I have the site up and loaded with the new them, but there are no articles in there. This is the site I was discussing in my recent post “Capitalize on the Long Tail”, where I talked about having 56 long tail key words that are going to go into this site. Well, now I have to get it crackin!
Overall, not a bad week, we are definitely getting there. The most important thing is there was some action. See, we can build on action and get better. It is when you don’t do anything, but learn that is the problem. You have to have some action in order to even correct it and begin moving in the right direction. We definitely did that this week. Got to keep it going!
This Week’s Goals
Alright, as usually, it is another big week ahead of us and it begins now! This morning I was itching to get started, but my son’s football game was on the schedule. So, I am just getting back in from that, they won by the way, and am ready to get started at chopping down my goals and making my future happen!
1) 15 Comments per day
- Hey, you didn’t think I was going to have that type of success last week, then fall off the map did you? If so, you don’t know me very well. It is like the old saying goes, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”
Commenting is working for me, so I am going to stick with it. Besides the learning and link backs, I am building relationships with these bloggers that I am commenting on, getting involved in their discussions and their communities. Bloggers love this and it is often what drives them to join the conversation back at your site. Looking forward to continuing growth of my blog network and family.
2) Write 1 article per day
- Ok, now we are getting down to business. I run a few blogs, but have never really contributed content on a regular basis. Much of this is because I didn’t treat my blogging like a real business.
Well, that is out the door. I understand that this is a real business and my contribution level is being pushed up several notches. I have a variety of blogs that lie in several different niches, so it should not get boring and dull for me. This is the beginning of a new day.
3) Implement New Position & Branding
- Over the last few weeks, I have been working on my Internet Business Plan and am excited to put it into practice. During this exercise, I discovered my place in the blogosphere and am going to run after it.
You see the new logo at the top, displaying my focus and direction. It is going to happen and I will break down the details later. For now, just know that I have a direction and will be working my plan!
4) Post Site Flip 4 Sale
- I have a new flip that I am working on and need to get it to the auction for sale. Bryan Clark just released his Blog Flipping Blueprint membership site, I joined, and am ready to take this aspect of my business to the next level. Bryan has some excellent material and I cannot wait to get into it.
I cannot give up my niche just yet, so don’t ask, but once the site is ready I will keep you posted.
5) Outsource Content Generation
- This is going to be a big step for me in my business because it is going to be the first time I outsource content. It has to happen because I have so much more work to do, but I want to launch my new niche site and site flip.
I am going to outsource articles for my niche site and my site flip as well. This is going to be interesting and I fully expect to have to do some editing to the material. We will see what happens and I will definitely keep you posted.
Go Get’em!
Well, that is it for the jaw jacking! Time to get to work and make it happen. I got a short, busy week planned and must get started.
Peace Blog Family, make sure you are chasing your dreams as well!

Hey Freddie, looks like you have been doing well and getting things done! I see you also took up commenting as well
15 comments a day is quite a bit, in fact more than I used to do so I am not surprised that you have seen quite a big jump in traffic. I have slowed down my commenting quite a bit as I have focused more on other sites.
This week’s goals look like they are gonna keep you very busy. As a fellow Hood member you know you can always hit me up if you need help with anything

Yeah, the Hood family is in the house! Jarret, I appreciate all the assistance that you have already provided and look forward to more, LOL!
Commenting is my new hustle for now as I continue to grow in this business. 15 a day is a lot, but I have been learning sooooooo much reading this wide variety of blogs that it should be illegal. That is what is motivating me to do it for another week. But, I know that I will keep it going because the relationships I am developing is great. You will see me on your blog for sure because I need those SEO tips and more!

Hi Freddie,
I suggest this month you change your permalink structure so it looks better. Also I know some really cheap writers, or if you want quality you could hire me

Danny, I know…I know, I am terrible with that permalink structure, but I have been trying to change it and getting all resistance from my hosting company.
The think is that I have a HostGator account also and haven’t change this site over there. I have no problems with them for permalinks. I may have to add that to this week because it is time to get it done.
Thanks for the push!
I will consider you, but I got an in for $3 an article. Sure, it will be the greatest quality, but my wife will edit for free. LOL!
Thanks for the offer and I will consider.

I agree with Danny on the permalink structure. It’s a no-no from SEO standpoint, especially on your adsense sites where you need to rank well on Google.
I don’t think it’s got to do with your host but should you need to change your permalink, please do install Platinum SEO which will help you to do all the redirection automatically.

Yeah Yan,
You and Danny are right. The issue with my host company is they will not give me or Wordpress access to the .htaccess file that is necessary to change the permalink structure. I am going to transfer this site, eventually, to my HostGator account where I am having no problems with permalinks.
My niche sites are on HostGator, thus have pretty permalinks and no issues.
This site is my personal site and I just started building it, so that is to come. But I will take heed to the suggestions and move this up on my priority list. I cannot have my Blog Family beating me up over something this simple, right?
Thanks for visiting and caring enough to commment!
That goes to Danny and Yan!
