Goal Setting Sunday: Week 15

Greetings Blog Family,

The weeks are floating by as I am reminded by writing these Sunday Goals setting post. Hopefully, you have not just been following along, but setting and hitting your goals as well. If not, grab a pen or pull up your publishing software and start setting goals. They are very important.

Last Week

Last week was an awesome week around here at FreddieTaylor.com. I actually completed all the goals that I set out to complete, but I am not satisfied with my workout routine and need to intensify the workout. Nevertheless, I will, but let’s focus on the positive today.

Blogosphere Bigshots Released – That is right, Blog Family, it is released. (If you haven’t signed up to get it yet, then do so now!) I know it is about time, but believe it or not there is a lot that  went into this. Ok, well, maybe there wasn’t a ton and most of the work was in my mind, but I got it done. All of the writers did a wonderful job and the immediate feedback I am getting is that the ebook is quality enough to charge for it, but I will not. It will remain free because my goal was to have an ebook to give away on this site to build my subscription base. That is accomplished.

What I didn’t anticipate was all of the additional ideas that would flow from this endeavor. There is a totally new site that I am building based on the ebook at BlogosphereBigshots.com, but it isn’t ready yet. Coming soon, it will promote the book and expand on the opportunities for bloggers like yourself to participate in educating the Blogosphere with what has worked for you. Stay tuned, I will having a closing blog post on Internet Marketing Experiment #1.

Post Site Flip for Sale – Well, this goal was accomplished as I posted HempExposed.com for sale. As of today, the auction has like 1 day left and there have been no bids. I thought this was one of my best sites, but obviously the subject matter is not getting any love by the people.

It is really unfortunate because the site has a lot of possibilities as people wake up to the world of opportunities that are presented by hemp. No, no, no, this not about the hemp that some enjoy by smoking, this site is about the million and one uses of hemp in everyday life. As I did research for this site, I discovered that hemp is an awesome crop that produces everything from oil, food, and soap to medicine, building materials, and clothing. It is really amazing. The wild thing is hemp has been used as a main crop all around the world and for thousands of years as well.

However, the the world seems to still be reluctant to go with this movement. Thus, I will keeping HempExposed.com and making it a niche site of mine. Just as a quick thought the other day, I think I am going to turn it into a store site that sells hemp products and blog as well to get some search engine traffic and continue to learn more and more about hemp. Once I make a run at the PepperJam store, I will do an Internet Marketing Experiment so we can all learn how this is done.

Develop Site Flip Templates – I managed to develop one template last week and it is looking very promising. The amount of work it cut down was amazing. This week, I will be testing that out for sure as one of the next flips I have planned will be using that template. Hopefully, we will be able to crank it out quickly.

Workout 3 Times – I managed to workout three times this week, bu they were some weak workouts. I definitely need to pick it up this week and be more consistent. I had gotten to the point that I worked out so regularly that I didn’t need to put this on my weekly goals, but fell off recently and need to remind myself. It all changes this week. Health is wealth!

This Week

Ok, Blog Family, it is another week staring us down again and I for one and up to the challenge. This past week has taught me a lot as I had the chance to work on my Internet Marketing Plan and put everything into perspective. This business is beginning to slow down for me and I am realizing the daily things that I need to be doing to be successful….and I will be doing thing. There is nothing like having a concrete plan in front of you to follow, tweak, and create.

Commenting 15 Times/day for 5 days – I haven’t been commenting enough around the Blogosphere, so it is time to make a concentrated effort here. The goal is to comment for my newest niche site, not HempExposed.com, but another one that I am keeping secret. My goal is to develop some back-links to the site and start buiilding up its authority as we make a run at the top of the search engines for our key phrases. I want to get on the top commentators list for a few sites.

Write 7 Articles this week for Niche site – The niche site that I am talking about above has currently has 15 articles. The goal is to create 30 articles on this site by January 1st, 2009. In order to stay on that pace, I need to write a few more articles, so this week I have to focus on that as well. Adam from Creadiv.com and I are racing to 30 articles for our niche sites. A little friendly competition to create material we need for our site. The winner gets a big congrats and the 30 articles that they produced. (Psst, Adam feels like I cheated because my first 10 articles were outsourced. LOL! I told him that is called using your resources.)

Order Directory Links - Last week, I ordered 1,000 Manual directory submissions for my real estate investment site that only cost me $14 bucks. So, this week, I am going to do the same for that niche site I mentioned in the last two goals for this week. My goal is to build this site up and dominate that niche, so directory links are part of that plan. Obviously, there is more, but that is coming in the future.

Edit Picking Comps – Ok, this is going to be a big job for the week. PickingComps.com is a website and a product that I created. Since I am a real estate appraiser, I thought it would be a great job to tell people how appraisers select comparable properties, so I created an ebook. The problem is the market changed dramatically and I need to edit and update this ebook. So, I have to get that done this week as someone just ordered the ebook and I have to deliver it to them.  I didn’t realize I had the purchase link active at the time.

Create Mini-Site for Blogosphere Bigshots - As I mentioned, there are some wonderful opportunities and ideas that came out of the Blogosphere Bigshot’s ebook. One of theme was the website, BlogosphereBigshots.com. My initial plan is to create a mini-site for this free ebook, promote it, and build my subscription base. Eventually, I am going to create a blog for this site and if you read the ebook you will find out how and where the material for that site is going to come from. It is an interesting experiment that I believe is going to have the same great results. There is more, but I will remain hush, hush for now.

Let’s get it Crackin’

Alright Blog Family, enough of the talk. Let’s get to work. We have a lot of things to get done this week. I didn’t even mention that I have a full week of posting here at FreddieTaylor.com prepared, so be sure to stop back for that. It is going to be a fun week as we seeks to expand our business, understanding, and reach.

I think if you make an effort to comment on other blogs, then you will get more readers and traffic to your blog.

    Freddie,

Good work with all you achieved last week. I am very impressed with the outcome of Bigshots ebook. Great stuff!

Don’t get too worried about the hemp site. I personally thought that my Christmas site was one of my better ones, but failed to sell it despite two listings. The market is funny like that sometimes. Luckily, I took the time to enter it into the Pepperjam contest and stand to win $1000 after being shortlisted to the final seven. Let me know if you want some pointers on the store builder. Let’s hope I am crowned champion at 5pm EST today!

Would be good to see you out and about commenting again. It has been a while :)

@ Franklin – Yeah, I have to get back into commenting. I fell off as I learned more and more about the blogosphere, but now is the time to return with passion.

@ Neal – Thank you for the kudos on the book. It was a lot of fun and yes, I would call it a success as well. Just got to keep building on it.

The Hemp site got me down a bit, but I am planning two more flips to shake it off and make some more money. Bummer that your Christmas site didn’t sell. I thought for sure that was going to be a good earner. Sweet that you are in the PepperJam contest finals. Good luck and yes, I will be taking you up on that offer to for insight on the Store. I won’t start the store until at least January 2009, got some things on my list to complete by the end of the year.

@ Ben – That is a good point. May have to look into that. However, it appears that a great opportunity is presenting itself for this site. I was contacted in private by someone to work with and build the site together. I like the idea and am going to pursue. You know how I do it, I will share the details when the time is right.

    Thanks for stopping by!
