Goal Setting Sunday: Week 11

Greetings Blog Family,

I know it is late Sunday night and I am just getting this post together. But better late than never, I always say. So, here is my weekly goal setting post for you to enjoy and hold me accountable.

Last Week

What a week? Talk about running into issues, I did. But, I also like to think that I pushed forward as best I could to make the week the best possible. The bad news first, I did not complete my guest post for Adam over at Creadiv.com, thus it will be on my list again next week. No excuses. I just didn’t get it done…plain and simple. I must try harder this week to make it happen. I need to jump on my list a little earlier in the week, just an observation from the last week.

Next, my flip has an interesting story to it. My goal was to select a domain and post a site for sale within three days of starting and cutting down the time it takes me to get a site to the auction. The challenge came because the site I purchased didn’t promulgate all week. I purchased the site last Sunday and it still hasn’t promulgated to my hosting server yet! Needless to say, I am furious with this situation. The domain company I used was 1and1.com…and yes I am putting them on blast. They are crap!!! Despite many people telling me they have never had a problem. I called and spoke with them after 4 days of waiting and they verified that everything was right on my end, but they said there was a problem with the worldwide Who Is database and that was the problem.

Well, this was BS because on Thursday I got fed up and purchased another site through GoDaddy.com. This site was able to promulgate within an hour. So, I ran with that site.

EasyComposting.com is the flip and I was able to create it in three days. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are the days that I worked on it. It is too late to post it tonight, so I will finish that on Monday and get it posted then. The only things that are left at this point is for me to write the sales copy and post it on SitePoint.com. I will have an update on Wednesday to let you know how that is going.

MyVegetarianLifestyle.com was the site that I posted for sale during week 9. The auction closed and it sold for a whopping $110. I was hoping for more, but am not complaining as it has provided addition funds to keep pushing my dream of becoming a profitable Internet Marketer. I am playing with house money and plan on continuing to push the envelop.

This Week

I have another big week planned with some bold action mixed in as well. I want to continue to push and move to the next level. My plans are to stay committed to flipping one site per week, thus I got to get hot and keep it moving. The EasyComposting.com site needs to get to auction on Monday and I must start on my next flip either Tuesday or Wednesday after dealing with 1and1.com to remove my domain name from being trapped in their “black hole” of a server. Let’s get to it!

1) Write Guest Post – This is what happens when you don’t finish your goals from the previous week. They get pushed forward to the next one. So Adam, you are going to get this guest post this week. I am making it a high priority because I got more big plans and must be known as a person that follows through on their commitments. I am.

2) Workout 4 Times – Balance is pretty important to me and the life of a blogger, so I have been wanting to introduce my health element here on this blog and this is the perfect week. Why is this the perfect week? Because I have been slacking on my workouts and now is the best time to get back to it. I will workout four times this week either at Ballys for some weight lifting or running the streets of my neighborhood. Since it has been a while, I will keep the runs been 2 and 3 miles for this week, but plan on getting those numbers up again. We will see.

3) Post Next Site Flip – I am not talking about the EasyComposting.com flip because technically, that is last weeks flip. I have another planned and ready to go. During the EasyComposting flip I discovered that I could write articles fairly quickly as I wrote 5 today to get that flip done, so it should be a problem with the next niche that I selected. This one is going to be fun and I have the perfect theme for it. Cannot wait to share it with you, but I have to be finished first so no one beats me to the auction place, feel me?

4) Launch IM Experiment #2 – I have been talking about this for a week or so, and planning it for a while. There is a niche site that I own and have neglected for some time now. My plan is to experiment with a technique I found in this great book and see what we can come up with to build that site into a real money maker. I am sure some of the ideas that will come out of that experiment will be helpful and useful to you in your journey as an Internet Marketer and blogger.

5) Research a Niche Site - Ok, most of the bloggers I swing with in the Blogosphere have been pushing me to stop trying to flip so much and hold a few niche sites for myself. I have been saying that is part of my plan, but have yet to really push the issue. So, I will do some research on some niche words that I have been thinking about in order to launch a niche adsense site. I will be using the WPT One Theme developed by Adam at Creadiv.com for this site, whenever I get to the launch. Must do my research first. I must admit that I may be secretive about this project, but wanted you to know that it is on my goals list for the week.

6) Resume Posting on IM Experiment #2 Site - There was a posting schedule of three days a week on this site….and I will resume that this week. It has been long enough and I have made some significant changes to the site over the past week. Let’s get it cracking because it is time to stop playing and make this puppy generate some cash. Feel me, Blog Family?

Conclusion

That’s it. You know I have posting and videos to do for this site as well, but have grown accustomed to getting those done. Also, I have work for my appraisal business to do as well, but who doesn’t have extra stuff to do besides their blogging life. I am no exception, but it is all going to get done.

That’s another week here at FreddieTaylor.com. This is the 11th week in a row that we have set goals. Have you done this exercise once yet? Come on! What are you waiting for? You know you have goals and you know they are big ones, so stop kidding yourself into thinking that you are going to casually wonder to achieving them. That isn’t going to happen. You must get serious, write it down, and go for it.

Let’s go get’em!

Haha, I feel bad for you since you called 1and1 and actually thought you would get an answer.

How much time did you put into the site flip for the $110? I know all people will be different, but if you took you 5 hours or so, that ain’t bad – $22/hour.

congratulations on the $110 flip. :) that’s already quite a large amount of cash by my standards. :O

i look forward to hearing more about your niche site experience (though i do understand why there’s a need to be secretive). am thinking of trying that out myself.

You never fail to plan everything in your head and put them into writing. I’m working on a non-flip site and just got myself a cute domain name, wordperez.com after the notorious perezhilton.com. I do plan ahead…just not so much into the habit of putting them in public.

    Congrats on the site flip!

I own a few domains with 1&1…I hate them more than life, lol! I’ve found that name.com for somains, paired with hostgator.com for hosting has worked briliantly for me. Normally I can purchase a domain, and have it pointing at my hosting in less than 10 minutes.

I’m trying to keep a few niche websites myself actually – its just getting around to making them profitable thats the key! So best of luck with yours!

@ Desk Coder – So you could have warned me about 1and1, huh? Yeah, I guess I was really in left field on that one. I don’t keep the hours it takes me to complete the sites, but think I will start. That will give me a better indication of the work I am putting in. To be truthful, I am just learning so that is my focus and I know I am only going to get better and faster.

@ Kouji – Thanks! I am not complaining, but expecting more out of this EasyComposting, but the market has the final say. I will only be secretive about my new niche site….but I may share my research method. We will see. The IME #2 will be totally open for all to see and learn. Once you see the niche, you will understand why I feel comfortable sharing. It is obvious and crowded already, so we will have our work cut out.

@ Blog for Beginners – Yan my man, thanks for stopping by. I figured you are a goal setter. People don’t tend to rise in their professions and become well respected without sharing goals. Yes, it is a bit strange to put one’s goals in front of the world, but this is my Blog Family and we are learning and growing together. Besides, I never said that these were all my goals. LOL! Just the ones I want to be held accountable for and so everyone can watch, grow, and learn in the process.

@ Nota – Thanks Neal, I wanted to pull on your cape for this EasyComposting, but my deadline ran down on me quickly and I have to keep cranking them out for now. Thanks for all your help, Neal. This list is going to be pretty challenging, starting with the Workout 4 times, but I am headed to Bally right after I finish here and coming back to get into the week.

@ Dan – You snuck in here while I was responding to the list, LOL, thanks for coming by and sharing. Yes, I am officially in the group with you and don’t like 1and1 any longer. I will be sure to check out name.com in the future, but you are right about HostGator…they are awesome! (Should be pimpin my HostGator affiliate, but I don’t. Will in the future, got a lot going on, lol.)

Good luck with the niche sites, but you are right, getting them profitable is the challenge. Hopefully, from my IME #2 we will learn more about building niche sites and making money from them as well. Thanks for sharing!!

I was just thinking buddy…After like two years of blogging this title will be like “week 104″ and eventually “week 200″, I just think it’s funny…for no reasons ;) Maybe because I think people will just say: “Aright freddy, it’s time to do your goal settings every month, not every week!” hehe!

Workout is good buddy, I also try to keep that balance…But I eat before going to the gym, I suggest you do the same. JK ;)

Can’t wait to see that new flip of yours buddy…

Keep setting these goals, makes the progress easy to track.

You’re really kicking butt, Freddie! Congrats. :-) I just need to figure out how to do all the back end of flips before I consider it for myself. That stuff just sails right over my head.

@ Froggy – That is going to be awesome to say that I have set my goals on this blog for 200 straight weeks!!! Talk about uniqueness and originality, there will be no one else that could take that claim to fame. LOL! But I am going to eventually incorporate my monthly goals here as well because that is an important part of goal setting to ensure they day, week, month, quarter, and year are in line with one one another. That is in the future, still just building my consistency for now.

Yeah, working out with no food is not a good idea and I will not make that mistake tomorrow!

@ WordVixen – Thanks for the props, but I have a long way to go. You really don’t have to learn that stuff if you partner with someone that does. Use your strengths and patch your weaknesses with relationships and joint ventures. It can happen!

Writing a guest post is a great goal. I know Caroline Middlebrook wrote quite a bit of guest posts and she has said a lot of that has got her tons of traffic and new subscribers. She must know what she’s talking about considering she already had 3,000 subscribers in one year.

It’s good that you were able to get some projects finished this week, especially with the auctions. You made a list of goals, and that’s the best thing you can do to prepare for upcoming tasks. Good luck getting everything accomplished!

@ Franklin – Guest posting is something I really want to get started with. Never heard of Caroline, but sounds like she is on to something. Thanks for the heads up!

@ MLRebecca – Thanks for dropping by. Yes we got some things done. As I am typing this to you, I just finished my next flip and will be posting it for sale today. Thanks for the well wishes! I am pushing to make it all happen!
