A good talking point, so eloquently posed by the Balboa of the blogosphere! I agree with Ben, and Freddie, about the importance of goal setting, both in the long and short term. The motivation though must come from one true source. From yourself! It's all well and good having these goals but to quote the Yan master 'Don't outsource YOUR dreams or goals!' It is good to have that network, to bounce those ideas and to help with your motivation, but you gotta look after number one! Go get some! First in the mind, then in reality! @ Ben - You hit the nail on the head with the short and long term goals. That is where it is at. The short term goals are kind of like carrots to keep the donkey moving. You chase and reach enough carrots and the next thing you know you are eyeballing one of your long term goals and really starting to feel like a winner. Hhahhaaa, we will get into all of this a little deeper later, but that is definitely the crux of the matter. Thanks for sharing and keep on reaching for the top! Seriously, finding motivation is sometimes very hard. Motivation is the kind of thing that is either extremely powerful because everything seems to work right or it this something extremely hard to find because nothing is working properly. Relying on other people to find that motivation is good for “short term motivation” once in a while, but otherwise you have to keep that fire alive all by yourself!

I personally keep that motivation by setting short term goals. I have long term goals and dreams just like everyone else, but I think when you have only long term goals it’s hard to stay motivated because you don’t see the benefits right away. With short term goals and a long term vision you stay motivated and still dream of big things.
