Around the Blogosphere: October 29th, 2008

Greetings Blog Family,

This week around the Blogosphere i have learned a tremendous amount of information. Unfortunately, much of thisnew found understanding did not come from articles I read. Much of it came from conversations via Skype with bloggers around the world. So le me kick off the Link Love like this:

Skype.com - This is the unoffical free communication tool of the Blogosphere. Every blogger should have it. yes, Skype allows you to make free calls to other Skype users anywhere in the world. But the Blogosphere seems to use this as their main chat tool. Git it if you plan on networking with bloggers.

OIO Publisher - Thanks to Jarret from JarretCade.net, OIO is working well on my site. The amazing thing about Jarret and his coding ability is that he doesn’t even have OIO and was still able to straighten my issues out like 5 minutes. I had been working on it for a few hours. LOL, that goes to show you that knowledge cuts through sheer desire to put in long hours.

OIO is an Ad management plugin that makes your private ad sales hands free and it is only $47 for a one time payment. Check out my affiliate link here: http://www.oiopublisher.com/ref.php?u=1647

Big shout out to Elija from TheAtHomeCouple.com, he put me up on some mean site flip game. Just some ideas and tecnniques to use inside of site flips. He has a very useful article called “51 Free Online Webmaster Tools” that you should check out. It is amazing what is around the Blogosphere for free.

Rules for Guest Posting - Check out Adam from Creadiv.com (Also check out his Halloween Theme), he has a great series he started on rules for guest posting. This is something that I will be doing over the next couple of weeks, Vlogging for other sites. It is a chance to provide some content for a fellow blogger, reach a different audience, get a backlink or two, and expose your blog to a different audience. If this is sometthing you are interested in doing, check out Adam’s post.

Make Comment Luv, Not WarBig shout out goes to Danny from LinkersBlog.com, he laced me with some excellent blogging game yesterday and I really appreciated it. Although most of the lessons are private, you should really check his blog out. This guy really, really knows this business and is willing to share with others.

Make Comment Luv, Not War is an excellent post title and you have to see what he has to say. It is amazing how much information and forethought can go into your linking strategy. (Oh yes, Danny, I haven’t forgotten about my guest post. Made great progress last night on the article and will begin rehearsing this week.)

Finally, Suitej.com has the best Halloween theme I have found around the Blogosphere. Talk about getting into the spirit.  You have to see this one for yourself. While you are there, be sure to check out his article entitled “WEBSITE FLIPPING: DIG DEEPER INTO SITEPOINT TO IMPROVE YOUR SALES”, you will be glad you did. I have been really interested in flipping lately and Jay provides some sweet tips every Friday about site flipping.

Balance

I believe that no matter what you do, you must have balance in your life. Blogging is a passion of mind, doesn’t nearly define me as a person, but I would like to share more with my readers. For this reason, I talk of leading a balanced life on this blog….and want to share something else that is special to me. (My family!)

Field Trip: Pumpkin Patch

One of the joys of parenthood is the field trips with your children’s classroom. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of going to the pumpkin Patch with my youngest son’s kindergarten class.

We had a blast even though it was pretty chilly outside. I get all warm inside when I see my little guy so excited. And yes, he was very excited. Naturally, the best part was picking out pumpkins!

Here are some pics from that day!

Over and Out

Have it out there surfing the Blogosphere. learn as much as you can, but remember balance is the key to life.

The link love is always appreciated blog fam! Balance is the key indeed, and it’s clear that you make sure to make balance by spending some quality time with little Freddie number 3 :) which probably makes you Freddie II If I’m correct?

@ Elijah – Yes, that makes me #2. #3 is my man. He cracks me up and we do spend a lot of time together when i’m not surfing the Blogosphere. But then again, he has his space suit and flys along with me sometimes. LOL!

    Thanks for dropping by!

Very nice, looks like you both had a great time with the pumpkins! ;) Keep that balance mate, it’s something so many people lose because they get “so busy”. It’s a matter of priorities in the end I think and not really of time…

Hey Freddie, thanks for the link :) All those years of playing around in the code is finally starting to pay off I think lol

It looks like your rating system is somewhat broken, the star graphics aren’t showing up in your post and there is no way to rate each comment even though there is a box showing up.

@ Ben – You are dead on with that one. It is priorities that cause people to neglect their balance. Family, health, relaxation, all of these things are critical, but the bottom line is you have to prioritize for them before you can make it happen. So important to do so!

@ WordVixen – Thanks, that is my little man there. He is a great person and we did have a blast!

@ Jarret – I am going to call you the Code Monster, LOL! Thanks for the heads up on the rating system. I didn’t even notice. Something must have went wrong when I switched my theme. I will get into it soon, thanks again!

@ Suite J – No problem on the link love, the least I can do. Glad you are feeling the layout. I really think this was a good move for where I am headed. Side bar working out, but there is always work to do. Thanks for the support, Blog Family!
