About Me
Mission Statement:
To provide bloggers with the business principles, motivation, and balance needed to take their enterprise to the next level.
Greetings Blog Family,
My name is Freddie Taylor. I have been an entrepreneur for the last 8 years. My last job was with the transit organization in college.
I grew up in the shadows of Detroit City during the late 70’s & 80’s. My neighborhood was like many all over America, lots of people working very hard and not making enough money to survive.
Fortunately for me, my wonderful parents were always in my life and wanted the best for me. I love them very much and they are very special people to me. They sacrificed and sent me to a private High School called Detroit Catholic Central. At CC, I got a top notch high school education, but was exposed to a greater world of wealth and access outside of the ghetto in which I grew.
Great experience for me because I got to widen the possibilities for mylife. Being exposed to people who saw the world with a different perspective was big for me. Besides, I thought people only lived in houses that size in the movies. Had no idea that was real, but oh was I wrong.
College Years
From highschool, I received a full scholarship to play football for Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. On the field, i was a three year starter at corner back and strong safty. My senior year I was All-Conference in the Gateway Football Conference.
Off the field, I studied business and in 1998 received my BS in Marketing. Continuing my scholarship, I continued my study of the bsuiness environment by completing and receiving an Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from SIU in December of 2000.
July 3rd, 2001, I married the love of my life, Krystal Taylor. One of the best days of my life. That August, Krystal graduated with her MBA as well. Also that month, she, my son, and I moved to Dallas, Texas for a year, then to the Chicagoland area, where we reside currently.
The Start of an Entrepreneur
I opened my real estate appraisal business in 2002 and continue to do so today. There is nothing like working for yourself. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
2003, we had another addition to our family, Freddie E. Taylor III. You might be thinking, why name the second born after you? Good question, but that is what my parents did. I was the baby of 7 and got my father’s name, so I continued the tradition.
Since that time, I have been slowly building and destructing various businesses other than my appraisal business. Slowly I have been building websites and learning the ropes of blogging and internet marketing. The first site I built was in 2004, since then, I have been on a path to be in the position I am in today.
I started my first blog in 2006, but it wasn’t until four months ago, June 2008, that I realized the power and opportunity of blogging and Internet marketing.
